Illegal Immigration Raises Daunting Issues

Terrorists and Criminals Come with Hardworking Immigrants

Along with multitudes of hard-working diligent people, sex offenders, terrorists and drug runners are crossing the border bringing chaos and mayhem to the United States.

No one can in good conscience begrudge hardworking, diligent people who come to this country seeking opportunity and a better way of life, qualities that immigrants from all over the world have come to America in search of, including most Americans’ ancestors. America’s hospitality and “melting pot” philosophy have welcomed all, but not without occasional problems arising.

Such is the current case occurring with illegal immigration at the country’s southern borders. Every year, hundreds of people die in the Arizona desert in their desperate attempt to find a better way of life, but many illegals, including the worst criminals and terrorists, come with sinister motives.

Crimes by Illegals Affect All

According to Congressman Steve King of Iowa, Biting the Hand that Feeds You, each day twelve U.S. citizens are murdered by illegal aliens; thirteen Americans are killed by uninsured illegal drivers; there is daily smuggling of heroin, meth, marijuana and cocaine; emergency rooms are flooded with gunshot wounds, anchor babies, imported diseases; and eight American children suffer as victims of sex crimes.

The cost of crime committed by illegals is stultifying when one includes the cost of identity theft, the theft of social security numbers, the incarceration of illegal immigrant criminals and sex crimes.

Researcher and author Deborah Schurman-Kauflin, Ph.D. of the Violent Crimes Institute, reports that there are approximately 240,000 illegal immigrant sex offenders in this country. This translates to 93 sex offenders and 12 serial sex offenders crossing the border each day. Of 1500 offenders studied, each offender averaged 4 victims for a total of 5,999 victims. This equated to 960,000 victims for the 88 months studied.

Schurman-Kauflin also noted: "Nearly 63% of the offenders had been deported on another offense prior to the sex crime."

Terrorists Enter at the Border

A new term is now used to describe the increasing numbers of illegals arrested trying to enter this country who are not Mexican. This term is OTM: Other Than Mexican. Since 9/11, the Department of Homeland Security reports a 41% increase in the arrests of OTM’s and Special Interest Aliens. It is documented that members of Hezbollah have already entered this country and that Islamic terrorist groups are establishing a presence in Mexico and using Mexico as a refuge.

Indeed, Al-Qaeda has publicly asserted the “right” to kill 2,000,000 American children, and floor plans for half a dozen schools were recently recovered in Iraq.

Bilingualism is Divisive

As ex-Colorado Governor Dick Lamn stated on August 8, 2002, in "One Nation, One Tongue," published in the Rocky Mountain News, “I look around the world in vain for an example of where bilingual nations live in peace with themselves.” Yet well meaning individuals continue to cater to the demand for bilingualism. The bottom line: bilingual countries are not successful.

The Aztlan Movement proudly asserts how Mexicans are reclaiming the Southwest and predict the coming “Collapse of the USA Empire.” Welcome to Los Angeles, MX.

Costs Associated with Illegal Immigration

According to The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration, the costs to education and the country’s infrastructure is bankrupting schools and municipalities.

“…the direct cost of educating the children of illegal aliens is somewhere between $29 and $35 billion dollars a year.” Yet, despite the pouring of public funds into “bilingual” education programs, only 9.6% of fourth generation Mexicans obtain a post high school degree.

“Take your pick: schools, hospitals, parks, roads, urban sprawl, police force, judicial system, water and sanitation systems, among others. Anything that more people impact, illegal aliens impact and often to a greater degree, since they generally aren’t paying for any of it. Also, many spend as little as possible (here) and send all their money home,” states Daniel Gonzalez in The Arizona Republic, "Poor Workers Scrimp, Send Money Home," (December 2006).

Attention is Needed Now

The illegal immigration issues plaguing this country need attention. Theories abound, from the one espoused in the newly released Death in the Desert, that Arab and Mexican drug cartels in collusion with corrupt U.S. Government officials are working to bring about the ultimate social, moral and financial decay of the country, to the Aztlan movement in this country endeavoring to reclaim the Southwest.

It's well past time for Congress to deal with the country's border issues.

This is not an issue that is going to go away. Until illegal immigration is curtailed, it will surely continue to eat away at the foundation of the United States.
